OUR CARLSON - "A BIT2MUCH" LP

LULUS: Like an uncut gemstone Our Carlson is one of a kind, rough around the edges, and quite utterly bedazzling; the man, the myth and the music inspire a sort of strange and primal awe. An unusually charming individual who cut his teeth by chewing even the most gristly fat off any bone offered, giving this larrikin laureate a phat beat, a hot mic and a white two-piece suit was always going to deliver. And while it's funny, it's not a joke; Our Carlson spins shit in a bunch of directions but much of the vitriol is aimed The Crap System and the not-so-great masses of unwashed poseurs who forgot how to have a time or handle themselves with the admittedly low standards of class that your MC wants to see in the world. Amassing a sizeable and devoted following, the whole thing is gathering steam and MC OC is here for it as much as he's there for you. As a general point of sonic reference it might be useful to imagine The Streets but swap the sketchy whimsical Garage beats for even more sketchy hi-fi cellphone Eskibeat and while you're at it swap Mike Skinner with Cal from Discharge. It's all a Bit2Much and that's the point innit? If you can't beat 'em, bugger 'em. I noticed that somebody on Bandcamp referred to Our Carlson as "The King of Epiletic Dance Music" and I reckon that's worth a mention.
