SPLIT SYSTEM - "VOL. 2" LP

LULUS: New long-form garaging disc from Legless Records familyband Split System. Vol. 2 is still very Australian Garage Punk, holding onto the holy sounds of The Saints, The Go-Betweens and hometown heroes ECSR and there's more than a gentle touch of the UK DIY/Punk vibe going on - think Mekons or a hint of Desperate Bicycles but more brawny. They've got that heart-starter energy that a lot of local punk is known for, the sorta thing that goes hand in hand with a beer and a mate at a Bowls Club dancefloor, but like many bands who've been trying their hand for a few years they've managed to bring a more emotional feeling to the forefront when they need to without dialing the heat down to less than a boil. In short, the energy is there and the songwriting has evolved. This has basically sold out in UK/EU/USA and I get the feeling it'll move mad fast locally, too.
