NIHILISTIC ORBS - SHIRT AND USB
Couldn't load pickup availability
Before Nihilistic Orbs was a record label it was a series of band nights at the Empress Hotel, starting in late 2009. Each show was recorded and dubbed onto a short run of cassettes by founder Shaun South, whose vision for the label came into focus in mid-2011 with the release of NO001 – Jonny Telaphone’s ‘Ceremony’ 7”. Nihilistic Orbs operated first from a basement in Carlton, then from a warehouse in East Brunswick. The label clocked nine releases in total, and ended after South’s passing in 2013.
The label gained a type of local cult-status for South’s brave choices. It weaved electronic music through a punk-heavy, staunchly DIY context, while shunning the club and opting for the most bleak and deconstructed versions of ‘synth’ music it could find.
Some eleven years after the first Nihilistic Orbs night and seven years after the last t-shirt was sold, a short run of the t-shirts will be released through the Lulu’s website with a special USB featuring both the label samplers.
All profits will be donated to Support Act.
